Judges office moves to Forward Twp.

The Magisterial District Judge office that serves Elizabeth, Elizabeth Township and Forward Township has moved to new location in the Curves building at 2611 Hayden Boulevard (Route 51 North) in Forward Township . The court had been in Swiss Alpine Village in Elizabeth Township . It moved because that office was too small. District Judge Beth Mills said the public will be better served in the new office. The new space will offer an additional meeting room, private prisoner

 

area and expanded courtroom and waiting areas, she said in a prepared statement.  I am glad that Allegheny County was willing to move the office and provide the residents with this additional space. I am hopeful that I will be getting approval for evening hours starting in September. The court is open to the public and I encourage residents to stop by.. The first sessions of traffic court will be today in the new facility. Civil and criminal cases will be heard on Wednesday. There is still some work going on at the office, which used to be a beauty salon. An area that will be used to hold prisoners waiting to see the judge still is being renovated. Current hours for the office are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
