Kenneth Mahoney, Jr.
Kenneth Mahoney, Jr., age 83, of Forward Township, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 in Lawson Nursing Home, Jefferson Hills. He was a retired salesman for Monongahela Ford and a former employee of Riverview Golf Course in Elizabeth. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theater, he was a former member of Monongahela Baptist Church and Elizabeth Lions Club, a life member and former president of Gallatin Sunnyside V.F.D. and a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. in Blaine Hill. Born June 19, 1926 in Glassport, he was a son of the late Kenneth Mahoney, Sr. and Beatrice Bohlander Mahoney. He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Betty L. Dunn Mahoney, whom he married on November 30, 1948; daughters, Karen Lee (Donald) Wilding of Forward Township and Deborah (Douglas) Haddock of Gallatin, TN; grandchildren, Duane (Erin) Opfer, Sarah Opfer, Alexander Haddock and Holden Haddock; great grandchildren, Kenneth P. Opfer and Andrew J. Opfer; brother, Duane (Marilyn) Mahoney of Myrtle Beach, SC; nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Friday, Janaury 15th from 1-4PM and 6-9PM. Services will take place on Saturday at 10:00AM in the funeral home chapel, with Ronald J. Calabro officiating.
